They also prohibit corked bats (bats that are packed with light substances) because it decreases its weight and greatly affects the batter’s hitting power. One advantage of using wooden bat is its safety measures. In fact, according to statistical evidence, there are more baseball-related injuries in using metal bats. Wooden bats also allow better distance and velocity with less batter strength. However, amateur baseball leagues like the Rhode Island Independent Amateur Baseball League, Yawkey Baseball League, and the Minnesota Baseball Association, have allowed the use of both wood and metal alloy bats.

Wooden baseball bats are usually made from ash, hickory, bamboo, and maple trees. Some of the world’s most famous batters include Hank Aaron (a.k.a. the Hammerin’ Hank) and Babe Ruth (considered as the most popular baseball player in the 1920s).

The world-famous Louisville Slugger baseball bats are made by Hillerich & Bradsby Company.

Action Figures, also known as figurine toys, can come in different troupes. These include portrayals as action heroes, movie and television lead actors, cartoons/anime idols, computer game characters, sport players, and even political notables.

Because of tariff classifications, the US government differentiated action figures into two kinds: toys – defined as a representation of “nonhuman creatures" and dolls – identified as a depiction of “human figures”.

In 1964, the term “action figure" was originated by Hasbro, an American toy maker and one of the largest game corporations in the world. The company’s first action figure was “The Lieutenant”-inspired G.I. Joe. They designed the toy for young boys who are not funned with playing the girl-designed and mostly feminized “dolls”.

The action figure’s escalating popularity spread to other international markets. These include the countries of Brazil, Canada, Germany, Japan, Spain, Argentina, Great Britain, France, Italy, Mexico, and Uruguay.

Aside from G.I. Joe, other famous action figures are He-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Stikfas, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Hulk and the WWE Wrestlers. Some of the world’s most prominent action figures comprise a variety of anime (Japanese animation) characters. These include Son Goku and Son Gohan (of Dragon Ball Z), Astro Boy, Pokémon, Gatchaman, Lupin III, and Mazinger Z.

Perhaps, the most famous movie-inspired action figure was the Star Wars. In 1977, the movie become a culture trend and sparked a phenomenal toy franchise.
